from the Diocese of Southern Ohio:  May 2021
Based on the Ohio Department of Health Responsible Restart Ohio, these guidelines for social distancing, masking, and congregating serve as the basis for our response to the pandemic still among us. Much of this is a continuation of previous guidelines, with updates and adaptations as we learn more about how the virus is spread. The highpoints:
  • The CDC has relaxed some of the warnings regarding the transmission of COVID-19 from surfaces
  • Communion is still restricted to bread only
  • The Ohio Public Health Advisory is still in effect and its color designations still apply to our diocese (Montgomery and Greene counties are still Level 4)
  • Vaccination is strongly encouraged; however, masks are still required even with vaccination
