St. Mark’s Recycling Program

We are becoming “Greener!”

St. Mark’s has a paper recycling bin, located across the parking lot from our Community Building. It is furnished to us at no charge by the Abitibi-Bowater company, which provides 70% of the paper used for all the newspapers currently printed in the world.

Each ton of paper that is recycled saves:
> 4102 kilowatt-hours of electricity
> 60 pounds of air pollution
> 7000 gallons of water and
> 3.3 cubit yards of landfill space

In addition, St. Mark’s will receive a payment from the company each month, dependent on the amount of paper we recycle.
