A Discussion Whenever and Wherever You Choose!

We invite you to join us in listening to the gospel according to Luke in a new way.  We will use a book that offers a brief  entry for each day, from Ash Wednesday (February 13) through Easter Saturday (April 6).  Each entry provides a short reading from the gospel, a brief comment on it, and a thought-starter titled “Today.”  The book is Lent for Everyone: Luke, Year C,  by  Bishop N.T. Wright (October 2012, Westminster John Knox Press).  It is available from Amazon (paperback or Kindle) and from Barnes and Noble (paperback or Nook).

We invite you to consider using this book as the basis for your daily Lenten reflections.  You may want to stop there, with your personal thoughts and prayers. But, if you are willing to share your thoughts on what you have read, please visit the St. Mark’s web site, stmarksdayton.org (click on the image of the Lenten book;  you can comment using Yahoo, AOL,or Hotmail IDs) .  You can also join us via our Facebook page, facebook.com/stmarksdayton. The blog format will allow many people to discuss what they see in each passage and how the gospel story pertains to and touches their own lives.  Also, please consider inviting other people, especially those who are not  church-goers, to join us as well.

This is an innovative and inviting way for all of us to do what we have promised in our baptismal vows: to listen to, live, and share with others the Good News of God in Christ.
