THE NICENE CREED
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,

begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.

Episcopalians across the state of Ohio are invited on retreat to practice being together as
God’s beloved children, at peace with one another and all of creation. This retreat is for
those seeking community, belonging, and restoration while building relationship across
difference, seeking God in each face we see.
The bishops of the Episcopal Church in Ohio, the Rt. Rev. Kristin White and the Rt. Rev.
Ann Jolly, will be present for portions of our retreat. Together, we will pray, worship, share
stories, rest, commune, and explore the farm as we practice being beloved community.

This coffee house ministry at the Kroger Starbucks happens on Wednesday mornings
from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. It’s a chance to get to know your fellow St. Mark’s parishioners
and meet some neighborhood folks. There are a few folks who take the opportunity
afterward to shop for the food pantry! Inviting someone to have coffee is an easier
task than asking them to church, so use St. Arbuck’s as your ‘side door’ to introduce a
non-church going friend to our community.

• Children can pick any card they want, or they can focus on cards related to one
of the seven practices (easy because every practice has its own color).
• On each card, you’ll find the name and color for one of the seven practices, plus
either a story from the Bible (SAY IT), a prayer (PRAY IT), or a game or activity
to try out in real life (LIVE IT).
• The printed cards are supplemented by seven audio recordings featuring
paraphrased Bible stories related to each practice.
• Encourage kids to be fearless with the cards. They may need a little help from
you or a stronger reader by their side. That’s OK; the BIG Way of Love works for
all kinds of young children and is designed to grow with them.

Neighborhood Bridges is a 501 ( c ) (3) charitable
organization that was launched in January of 2017 to respond to the growing rate of
poverty in suburban and rural America. Its mission is to bridge communities with schools
in providing basic needs, removing barriers, and seeking equity for students so they can
engage and succeed in school and life. We use technology and social media to advocate
for children and families in need…and then engage the community via a “campaign for
kindness” to fill those needs.
Neighborhood Bridges is about kindness…speed…efficiency…and bridging all community
resources to drive direct support and care to remove barriers for children/families in need.
Year after year, neighborhood bridges has received the Gold Seal of Approval from
national charity watchdog, GuideStar, because of our continued transparency and annual
administrative overhead costs of 5% or less.
St. Mark’s supports Neighborhood Bridges/Mad River Local Schools . We participate
in flash kindness opportunities and provide storage space upstairs in our Community

We thank you for teaching us how to used these abilities, though we must at times remember to combine them with patience. Remind us to speak with kindness, to listen to understand, to hear all voices, to decide on what is just and true, to choose the path of peace, and to know we are not alone. Be with us in this time of transition, that it is as effective as it is unsettling, as comforting as it is confusing.
