St. Mark’s Episcopal Church Sponsors Canterbury Court’s Brighter Days for November.

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (November 19, 2014) – During the month of November, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Dayton is the Brighter Days sponsor for Canterbury Court in West Carrollton. Owned and operated by Cincinnati-based Episcopal Retirement Homes (ERH), Canterbury Court, is an affordable living community that offers retirement living with amenities and services uncommon to retirement communities for low-income seniors.

The residents at Canterbury Court enjoy bus trips, fitness equipment, wellness programs, communal meals, nurse visits, Bible studies and many other daily activities. These life-affirming activities are not paid for by the residents or government sources, so to help underwrite the costs of the programs, ERH established the Brighter Days sponsorship. Brighter Days allows local business, faith communities, and individuals to serve as month-long sponsors for as little as $1,000. The relatively low-cost of sponsorship, puts sponsor participation within reach of many businesses, faith communities and individuals and gives them the flexibility of choosing a level of participation that best meets their needs.

One of the goals of St. Mark’s is to expand the parish’s outreach activities to provide increased focused hands-on ministries.  In addition to sponsoring Canterbury Court, other outreach ministries include Kemp School Partnership, CARE House, and St. Paul United Methodist’s Food Pantry.
