Kemp School Community Partnership

Since 2002, St. Mark’s Church has been a member and leader of the Kemp School Community Partnership: a cooperative effort by local churches in support of Kemp Elementary School.  Our work includes providing tutors to work with the children during the school day, school supplies for those who need them, an annual cookout to support the school’s Open House, funds to enable the school to buy clothing for students who need it, and the obtaining of grants to allow the school to buy and give to students a variety of books in support of their literacy efforts.

During our regular Sunday worship on Sunday, September 20, and in the Coffee Hour that follows, we will be celebrating the start of the 14th year of this important ministry.  Guests for the day will include Dayton Public Schools Superintendent, Lori Ward, who will speak with us in place of a sermon; Kemp School Principal, Stacy Maney; and other members of the Kemp faculty and staff.

St. Mark’s own children and youth, the members of our Sunday School program, will serve as Coffee Hour hosts that day.  Be sure to be with us for this joyful event!
