Episcopal Habitat Build – Update!

habitat-3

The build has begun,

the family is ready,

and here’s your chance

to contribute!

October 23 Update:

The build continues! On Thursday, Oct 13, we had six Episcopalians joined by three other workers; our signed 2x4s were installed in a small wall addition that day. Many thanks to those who donated: we raised $220 for Isaac Nzamutuma, his wife Jacqueline Uwabera, and their daughters Daniella and Arielle.  If you’d like to join a crew, please contact Don Nancarrow.  Check out the build pictures on the bulletin board!

October 16 Update:

Last Sunday we were joined by our Habitat for Humanity family, Isaac Nzamutuma and his wife Jacqueline Uwabera, and their adorable daughters, Daniella and Arielle.  We held a “board signing” fundraiser, and will be sending an additional $200 to Habitat for the build–this is on top of the $500 already sent by the Parish Action Team.

Isaac Nzamutuma and his wife Jacqueline Uwabera, are from Rwanda. They were able to escape the violence in their country and moved to the United States 12 years ago.   Jacqueline Uwabera was a nurse in Rwanda. After arriving here she decided to become a stay at home mom to Daniella (3 1/2) and Arielle (9 months). Isaac started as a janitor, and then moved on to be a patient transporter with one of the most prestigious hospitals here in Dayton. Today, Isaac works as a nursing assistant and is currently going to school for his degree as a Registered Nurse.

So…an easy way to help this family!

There will be 2’x4’ boards

in the Lounge,

and for a $5 donation

you can sign them.

The boards will become part of

this family’s home,

and they will know just how important

they are to our community.

Also:

Thursday, October  13

is “Episcopal Day” at the build site.
